📖 Psalm 91:15–16 (NIV)

“He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

There are parts of my story I used to steer clear of. Those where shame spoke more loudly than hope. My divorce was not merely a heartbreak; it shattered both me and my child. And it wasn't due to someone else's actions, but because of my own. I was the one who left. I was the one who fled.

However, even during those moments, and especially then, God was always there and approached me when I was not ready. Keep in mind, He knows your heart even when you don't.

This verse in Psalm 91 isn’t just a poetic promise. It’s the holy truth that carried me through some of the hardest times of my life. I didn’t just read it. I lived it.

“He will call on me, and I will answer him.”

I didn’t deserve to call. I felt like I’d forfeited the right. I still cried out in desperate prayers. And God didn’t silence me. He didn’t shame me. He answered me. He is near! Not with condemnation, but with compassion. Never with exile, but with embrace.

“I will be with him in trouble…”

He didn’t fix everything overnight. He didn’t undo what had been done. But He was with me in it. Not above it. With me. In the loneliness. In the courtroom. In the silence of starting over. He met me in the middle of the mess and sat with me in it until I could begin to breathe.

“I will deliver him and honor him…”

I didn’t consider myself deserving of saving, let alone honor. However, Jesus doesn’t wait for you to be whole. He saves you amidst the consequences, the pain, and the reflection of your shortcomings.

However, He not only redeems the moment; He transforms your life from within.

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

This healing isn’t finished. I’ve seen His salvation and not just the eternal kind. He saves my soul daily from the wreckage of shame, from the weight of regret, from the fear that I’m too far gone to be used.

And here’s the beautiful reversal:
The place of my failure became a testimony of His unfailing mercy.

God's mercy has the ability to reshape our stories, turning our dark moments into growth and renewal.

I have to be more for God, not to earn anything, but because I finally understand just how much He has already given to me. He has been all in from before the beginning. He is still healing me, and He is still worthy of my whole life.

💛 Life Truth:

You may have been the one who walked away.
But He is still the One who walks toward you.
There is no past He won’t redeem—
and no failure that can outrun His forgiveness.

✍️ Personal Reflection:

What part of your story still carries shame or regret?
Could you have the courage to believe that God is not only with you in this situation but also healing you through it?

Let Him answer you.
Let Him sit in the trouble with you.
Let Him show you His salvation.
